Abstract ISO 5961 provides methods and procedures for determining cadmium content in water using atomic absorption spectrometry. ISO 5961 specifies two methods for the determination of cadmium in water by atomic absorption spectrometry. The two methods are covered in separate clauses as follows: clause 3: Determination of cadmium by flame atomic absorption spectrometry clause 4: Determination of cadmium by electrothermal atomization atomic absorption spectrometry Who is ISO 5961 — Determination of cadmium for?  ISO 5961 on the Determination of cadmium is useful for:  Wastewater collecting systems  Wastewater treatment plants  Plants treating industrial wastewater  Water supply treatment plants   Why should you use ISO 5961— Determination of cadmium?  Cadmium occurs in water in the oxidation states III and VI. The two methods described determine cadmium in both oxidation states, either as acid soluble cadmium or as water soluble cadmium, depending on the sample pre-treatment. ISO 5961 provides methods based on the atomic absorption spectrometric measurement of the cadmium content of the acidified sample in a nitrous oxide/acetylene flame. ISO 5961 describes methods and procedures for determining cadmium present in raw water with atomic absorption spectrometric method. ISO 5961 provides you with apparatus, sampling, transport, storage, and preparation of test pieces, preparation of reagents and apparatus, pre-treatment of test pieces, test procedure, and much more.
