Perilaku dan ciri-ciri tampalan piezoelektrik terikat pada alur julur telah dikaji. 2 alur julur tampalan piezoelektrik yang berbeza kepanjangan telah dikaji, iaitu 300mm dan 70mm. Analisis Modal telah dijalankan untuk kedua-dua alur julur tampalan piezoelektrik untuk menyiasat tingkah laku dinamiknya. 3 pendekatan analisis modal telah digunakan dan dibandingkan, iaitu teori alur Euler-Bernoulli (pendekatan analisis), ANSYS simulasi (pendekatan berangka) dan ujian impak. Penepuan voltan dan frekuensi kedua-dua sistem tampalan-alur julur 300mm dan 70mm telah dikaji. Voltan dan kekerapan tepu sistem tampalan-alur julur 300mm dinilai melalui hasil pecutan, manakala voltan dan frekuensi tepu sistem tampalan-alur julur 70mm dinilai melalui hasil anjakan. Fasa analisis hanya dilakukan untuk 70mm sistem tampalan-alur julur. Ciri-ciri sistem tampalan-alur julur yang dipelajari dalam tesis ini boleh digunakan untuk membangunkan kawalan gegaran aktif piezoelektrik atau penuai tenaga piezoelektrik.

The behaviour and characteristics of piezoelectric patch bonded on cantilever beam are studied. Two different length of patched cantilever beam is studied, namely 300mm and 70mm. Modal analysis is conducted on both patched cantilever beam to investigate its dynamic behaviour. Three approaches of modal analysis are utilized and compared, namely Euler-Bernoulli beam theory (analytical approach), ANSYS simulation (numerical approach) and experimental impact test. Voltage and frequency saturation of both 300mm and 70mm patch-cantilever system are studied. Voltage and frequency saturation of 300mm patch-cantilever system is assessed through its output acceleration, while the voltage and frequency saturation of 70mm patch-cantilever system is assessed through its output displacement. Phase analysis is only performed for 70mm patch-cantilever system. The characteristics of patch-cantilever system learnt in this thesis can be applied to develop piezoelectric active vibration control or piezoelectric energy harvester.
