BS EN 60641-3-2:1995 is a European standard that specifies the requirements for heat-resistant insulating materials used in electrical equipment. This standard specifically covers flexible insulating materials, such as films and laminates, that are used in low-voltage and high-voltage electrical equipment.
The standard specifies the thermal class, electrical properties, and mechanical properties of the insulating materials. It also provides guidance on the test methods for evaluating these properties. The standard aims to ensure that the insulating materials used in electrical equipment are capable of withstanding the expected thermal, electrical, and mechanical stresses without compromising their insulating properties.
It is important to note that this standard has been superseded by the updated version, EN 60641-3-2:2016. This newer version includes additional requirements and updated test methods to reflect advances in technology and changes in industry practices.
This International Standard gives the requirements for presspaper for electrical purposes comprised of 100 % sulphate wood pulp or 100% cotton or a mixture of sulphate wood pulp and cotton.
