Litar bersepadu digunakan dalam kebanyakan peralatan elektonik hari ini dan telah merevolusikan dunia elektronik. Komputer, telefon bimbit dan peralatan rumah digital lain kini adalah sesuatu bahagian struktur masyarakat moden yang dilakukan oleh pengeluaran litar bersepadu yang kos rendah. Pembangunan yang pesat dapat diteruskan adalah kerana kemajuan teknologi CMOS telah membolehkan litar bersepadu difabrikasi sehingga menjadi saiz yang lebih kecil dengan bersaiz mikro. Alat rekabentuk langganan penuh Cadence telah digunakan untuk meningkatkan pretasi rekabentuk litar bersepadu. Silterra 0.18 um telah digunakan sebagai teknologi bagi merekabentuk litar. Litar bersepadu telah direkakan mengikut aliran reka bentuk semikonduktor oksida logam pelengkap litar bersepadu. Litar bersepadu yang direka beroperasi pada sumber voltan 0.5 volt. Tesis ini mengandungi dua komponen litar bersepadu yang utama. Pertama ialah pengayun cincin dan kedua ialah kaunter D flip-flop terpicu pinggir. Pengayun cincin digunakan untuk menghasilkan frekuensi. Rekabentuk litar menggunakan kaunter D flip-flop terpicu pinggir bagi menghasilkan pembahagi frekuensi. Frekuensi yang dihasilkan ialah 33.33 kHz dan 16.66 kHz. _______________________________________________________________________________________________________ Integrated circuits are used in virtually all electronic equipment today and have revolutionized the world of electronics. Computers, mobile phones, and other digital home appliances are now inextricable parts of the structure of modern societies, made possible by the low cost of production of integrated circuits. Most of the improvements on its products have resulted essentially from the industry’s ability to exponentially decrease the minimum feature sizes used to fabricate integrated circuits. So to improve the performance of the design, Cadence full custom design tools have been used to design and simulate the circuit based on the Silterra 0.18 μm technology. The circuits are designed base on the CMOS IC design flow. The circuit is designed to operate on the supply voltage (Vdd) 0.5 volt. In this study, two types of circuitry were studied. There are ring oscillators and Edge-triggered D-flip-flop counter. The ring oscillator is used to provide the frequency. The Edge-triggered D-flip-flop counter will be designed to conduct the frequency division. Result of the simulation was analyzed. The frequencies obtained were 33.33 kHz and 16.66 kHz.
