Bentonit yang telah diubah suai penjerapan salutan lapisan dengan kepekatan berbeza polyvinyl butyral (PVB) dan pelarut seperti etanol, butanol dan asid asetik telah dibangunkan dan telah bersalut pada kain kapas untuk menentukan lapisan terbaik untuk proses electrospinning. Pengaruh pelbagai faktor disiasat terutamanya untuk penjerapan metilena biru (MB) penyelesaian pada kain kapas. Hasil kajian tersebut mendedahkan lapisan dengan 12% PVB dengan pelarut butanol memberikan kecekapan penyingkiran pewarna MB iaitu 83.1% bagi 5 jam penyentuhan masa. Kelikatan memainkan peranan penting kerana lebih tinggi kelikatan ia akan membentuk struktur nanofiber yang berterusan dan tompok di mana diameter nanofiber meningkat. Oleh itu, ia didapati asid asetik memberikan kelikatan tertinggi antara butanol dan etanol. Secara kualitatif, tiada penggumpalan untuk semua salutan lapisan bentonit. Kebolehlarutan yang lebih rendah untuk butanol dan PVB adalah faktor utama yang menyumbang kepada pemilihan butanol sebagai pelarut terbaik bagi PVB untuk membentuk sebuah nanofiber yang seragam dan berterusan. 12% PVB dengan lapisan butanol telah dipilih sebagai formulasi terbaik dalam proses electrospinning dan penjerapan MB dye penyelesaian disahkan menggunakan electrospun nanofibers. Penjerapan MB daripada electrospun nanofibers memberikan penyingkiran peratusan tertinggi iaitu sehingga 85.31% bagi 5 jam penyentuhan masa disebabkan oleh kawasan permukaan yang tinggi dan sangat berliang struktur. Penyingkiran peratusan meningkat dengan penyentuhan masa dan menurun dengan peningkatan kepekatan pewarna awal. Garis sesuhu Langmuir adalah terbaik menunjukkan penjerapan MB ke permukaan bentonit. _______________________________________________________________________________________________________ Bentonite modified adsorbent coating with different concentration of polyvinyl butyral (PVB) and solvents such as ethanol, butanol and acetic acid has been developed and coated on the cotton cloth to determine the best coating for electrospinning process. The influence of various factors was investigated mainly for the adsorption of methylene blue (MB) solution on cotton cloth. The result from the studies revealed coating with 12% PVB with butanol solvents gives the highest MB dye removal efficiency which was 83.1 % for 5 hours contact time. Viscosity plays major role in order as the higher the viscosity it will form continuous and beads-less nanofiber structure where the diameter of the nanofiber form increased. Thus, it was found acetic acid gives the highest viscosity among butanol and ethanol. Qualitatively, there were no agglomeration of all the bentonite coating observed. Lower solubility of butanol in PVB is key factors that contribute to the selection of butanol as the best solvent for PVB to form a uniform and continuous nanofiber. 12% PVB with butanol coating was chosen as the best formulation in the electrospinning process and the adsorption of MB dye solution is verified using electrospun nanofibers. The of MB adsorption on electrospun nanofibers gives the highest percentage removal which was up to 85.31 % for 5 hours contact time due its high surface area and highly porous structure. The percentage removal increased with contact time and decrease with increasing initial dye concentrations. Langmuir isotherms was best described the MB adsorption onto the bentonite surfaces.
