This Technical Report gives a catalogue of applications and a list of user requirements and resulting system requirements for the Home and Building Electronic System (HBES) standardized by TC 105. This report has been structured to minimize overlapping. The result of this is that an application such as energy management does not appear explicitly because it is already covered by other applications.
All applications in this catalogue can in principle be monitored and controlled from the outside of the
home by use of gateways and external communication services such as the public telephone network and the ISDN.
Almost all applications can trigger some sort of alarm or other action under special conditions (for
instance fault conditions). This is not specifically mentioned under the various applications, but
section 1.5 lists some possible presentations of alarm conditions.
