Lampu merupakan perkakas elektik yang memberi impak yang besar terhadap
penggunaan tenaga elektrik untuk sesebuah rumah. Untuk memastikan penggunaan
tenaga elektrik yang lebih cekap, berubah kepada lampu mesra teknologi merupakan
cara terbaik. Tesis ini membincangkan perbandingan kuasa elektrik berdasarkan prestasi
penjimatan tenaga oleh lampu domestic. Antaranya ialah lampu pijar (LP), lampu
kalimantang (LK), lampu kalimantang kompak (LKK) dan diod pemancar cahaya
(DPC). Kajian menunjukkan bahawa lampu kalimantang kompak 18 W mengeluarkan
kuantiti cahaya yang hampir sama dengan lampu pijar 100 W. Dari segi kos, lampu
DPC agak mahal berbanding lampu-lampu yang lain iaitu kira-kira RM 80.00 sebuah.
Walau bagaimanapun, DPC, LKK dan LK menjejaskan kualiti tenaga elektrik kerana
faktor kuasa (FK) yang redah. LP mempunyai FK yang uniti kerana ia tidak mempunyai
litar elektronik. Menurut eksperimen yang telah dijalankan, hasilnya menunjukkan
bahawa DPC cahaya ke bawah mempunyai lux yang tertinggi iaitu 3.400 lx apabila
dibekalkan dengan 100 W kuasa masukan manakala LP adalah yang paling teruk iaitu
109 lx. Dari segi penurunan lux, LK mempunyai penurunan lux yang amat tinggi,
manakala LKK mempunyai lux yang hampir stabil apabila jarak bertambah. Hasil
kajian mendapati lampu di abad ini mesra tenaga. Dari kajian ini, berubah kepada lampu
mesra teknologi adalah perlu untuk memastikan penggunaan elektrik dikurangkan dan
dapat membantu pengguna mengurangkan pembaziran kuasa disebabkan lampu jenis
lama.

Lighting lamp is an appliance that gives great impact on the consumption of electricity
in domestic. To ensure the use of electricity more efficient, changing to light friendly
technology is the best way. This thesis discusses the comparison of electricity
consumption based on energy saving performance of the domestic lighting lamps
(DLLs). The DLLs are incandescent lamp (IL), fluorescent lamp (FL), compact
fluorescent lamp (CFL) and light emitting diode (LED). Literature study showed that
18 W CFL emit almost same quantity of luminous flux (lumens) as a standard 100 W IL.
In terms of cost LED lamp was the highest which is around RM 80.00 per lamp
compare to other DLLs. However, LED, CFL and FL worsen electric power quality due
to poor power factor (PF). IL is unity PF since it has no electronic circuit built in. The
further understanding is known by carried out the experimental test on these DLLs.
According to the experiment data that had been conducted, the result indicated that LED
downlight has the highest lux which is 3400 lx when supply with 100 W input power
while IL is the worst which is 109 lx. In terms of lux-level, the FL has the drastically
drop of lux when the distance is change from 1 meter to 2 meter while CFL has the
stability of lux level when the distance increase. The both result indicate that the newest
lighting lamp which is LED is energy friendly. From this study, changes to light
friendly technology are necessary to ensure the electricity consumption is reduce instead
help the consumer reduce the power wastage on the traditional lighting lamp.
