BS EN 61068-3-1:1996 is a British Standard that specifies the mechanical performance requirements for electronic tubes and valves. Specifically, it covers the test methods for the determination of the resistance to shock and vibration of tubes and valves.
This standard applies to all types of electronic tubes and valves, including receiving, transmitting and other special-purpose tubes and valves, as well as microwave tubes.
BS EN 61068-3-1:1996 specifies the following tests:
Resistance to shock: This test determines the ability of the tube or valve to withstand mechanical shock caused by transportation, handling or other operational conditions.
Resistance to vibration: This test determines the ability of the tube or valve to withstand vibration caused by transportation, handling or other operational conditions.
The purpose of these tests is to ensure that the tube or valve meets the required mechanical performance specifications for its intended application.
BS EN 61068-3-1:1996 has been superseded by the international standard IEC 61068-3-1:2017, which specifies the same test methods with some updates and modifications.
