Abstract BS EN 50144-2-1:1996 is a European Standard for "Railway Applications - Communication, Signalling and Processing Systems - Safety-Related Communication in Transmission Systems - Part 2-1: Safety-Related Message Sets for Communication Between Vehicle(s) and Shore Station(s) for Traction Power Supply". It specifies the safety-related message sets and protocols used for communication between trains and shore stations in railway applications related to traction power supply. The standard defines the message formats and transmission procedures for safety-related information exchanged between vehicles and shore stations, such as data related to traction power supply, power management, and fault conditions.
