Abstract BS EN 50130-4:1996 is a European Standard for "Alarm Systems - Part 4: Electromagnetic Compatibility - Product Family Standard: Immunity Requirements for Components of Fire, Intruder and Social Alarm Systems". It specifies the minimum requirements and test methods for electromagnetic compatibility (EMC) for components of fire, intruder and social alarm systems, with the aim of ensuring their proper functioning in an electromagnetic environment. The standard covers immunity requirements for components of alarm systems such as control panels, detectors, sounders, and manual call points. It defines the test procedures to determine the immunity of the components against electromagnetic interference (EMI) caused by sources like radio transmitters, mobile phones, and power lines. BS EN 50130-4:1996 is part of the BS EN 50130 series, which provides a comprehensive set of standards for alarm systems.
