Berdasarkan
reka bentuk simulasi, modal turbin reka bentuk 4-bilah iaitu bilangan bilah tertinggi

The power system using the clean, decentralized renewable hydrokinetic turbine can
be an alternative option in delivering locally and sustainably the energies for the
communities inaccessible to the electricity connection. This study proposes a practical
design to produce a power output of 1000W to solve the electrical demand in the rural
area by using a horizontal axis hydrokinetic turbine. In this work, the design
consideration of the horizontal axis hydrokinetic turbine for the Sarawak river has been
initiated. Rotor blades have a primary influence on the efficiency of hydrokinetic
turbines. One of the crucial aspects of designing the rotor blades is the selection of the
blade number. In this design, S1223 airfoil and the various blades, 2,3 and 4 blades
configuration with the same, 1.75m total diameter have been investigated. The result
indicates that turbines with high blade numbers deliver a better performance than those
with lower blade number. The numerical study of the blade element momentum (BEM)
algorithm in Q-Blade software has been used to determine the rotor performance of
variable blades. Based on simulation design, the 4-bladed design modal turbine having
the highest number of blades in this investigation, able to harness 1000W output power
at 1.5m/s water velocity.
