The title of this project is ‘Boost Converter to Produce Output of 36Vdc For Standalone Photovoltaic Voltage Application’. The prototype of this circuit that has been designed manages to achieve 74.90% of efficiency. In this project, two circuits have been build which are switching circuit and Boost circuit. The switching circuit is to produce PWM waveform with 50% of its duty cycle and to set switching frequency of 100kHz. Both circuits are connected to each other where the switching circuit act as controller circuit. The Boost Converter circuit was simulated by using PSIM 4.5 software before it is implemented on the bread board. From simulation, the efficiency of the circuit is over 90%. The difference of efficiency between the simulation circuit and the prototype circuit is a common thing where in the simulation, all the components are ideal but practically the real components have their own tolerance and some error. Besides, the loss in the switching circuit also effect the prototype circuit’s efficiency. Overall the prototype circuit that has been design in terms of hardware has the efficiency of 74.90%.
