This Part of BS 6465 gives recommendations for the
scale of provision and guidance for the selection and
installation of sanitary appliances.
It does not give guidance on the space requirements
for appliances or the levels of accommodation in
sports stadia and such places of public
entertainment.
This standard applies to the following:
a) dwellings;
b) accommodation for elderly people;
c) facilities for disabled people;
d) public toilets;
e) workplaces;
f) shops with sales area in excess of 1 000 m2
and
shopping malls;
g) schools;
h) buildings for public entertainment including
cinemas, theatres, town halls (when used for
entertainment), leisure centres, libraries;
i) hotels, guest houses and hostels;
j) restaurants, canteens, cafeterias and fast food
outlets;
k) licensed bars;
l) swimming pools.
