Konkrit bertulang keluli amat umum dalam bidang pembinaan. Namun begitu, struktur akan menghadapi masalah pengakisan apabila terdedah dalam persekitaran yang agresif. Untuk mengatasi masalah pengakisan ini, fiber telah dicuba dalam bidang pembinaan sebagai pengantian keluli. Satu kajian makmal untuk mendapatkan sifat lenturam rasuk konkrit yang bertetulang dengan fiber kenaf telah dijalankan. Dalam kajian ini, terdapat tiga jenis rasuk konkrit dengan beza peraturan tetulang telah disediakan. Sifat lenturan telah dikaji dengan ujian beban empat titik sehingga mencapai kegagalan. Kelakuan rasuk dikaji melalui ciri-ciri seperti beban-regangan, pengedaran regangan oleh konkrit dan tertulang, corak keretakan, perubahan paksi neutral dan bentuk kegagalan. Keputusan yang didapat daripada kajian telah menunjukan bahawa rasuk bertulang fiber kenaf mempunyai prestasi yang lebih lemah berbanding dengan rasuk bertulang keluli. Dalam kajian ini, bentuk pengaturan bagi tertulang memberi kesan yang tinggi kepada sifat lenturan specimen. Selain itu, semua rasuk bertulang fiber kenaf menunjukkan pola retak yang luas disebabkan oleh kelembaban ikatan antara tertulang dengan konkrit. Oleh itu, peningkatan pada sifat ikatan adalah amat penting kepada rasuk bertulang fiber kenaf supaya ia dapat mendapat pencapaian yang lebih kurang sama dengan rasuk bertulang keluli biasa. Keputusan dari ujian yang telah dijalankan memberikan penyimpangan yang kecil berbanding dengan teori. ___________________________________________________________________________________ Steel rebars are widely used in construction of the concrete structure due to their efficiency and economic benefit. However, it faces the corrosion problem when the structures are exposed to aggressive environments. Fibers rebars can be used as an alternative to replace the conventional steel in order to overcome the corrosion problem. Experimental study on flexural behavior of concrete beam reinforced with kenaf fiber rebars has been carried out. In the experiment, three types of concrete beams reinforced with different arrangement of reinforcement were prepared. All beam were tested under four points bending test. The behaviors of these beams were investigated with the loadstrain characteristics, concrete and reinforcement strain distribution, cracking behavior, change of neutral axis and mode of failure. The experimental results on the flexural behavior indicated that the kenaf rebars reinforced specimens have a poorer performance as compared to conventional concrete beam. The shape of arrangement for the reinforcement greatly influences the flexural behavior of specimens. Moreover, the entire kenaf reinforced concrete beam showed extensive cracking pattern due to bonding between the rebars and concrete. The experimental ultimate loading sustained by the specimens has a small deviation from the theoretical value.
