BS 3456-102-102.36:1989 is a British Standard titled "Specification for safety of household and similar electrical appliances. Particular requirements. Commercial electric ranges, ovens and hob elements." It specifies safety requirements for electrically operated commercial ranges, ovens, hob elements, and similar appliances not intended for household use. The standard excludes hot cupboards, convection ovens, ovens used for industrial purposes, continuous process ovens for mass food production, and microwave ovens. It addresses various safety aspects, including classification, marking, protection against electric shock, heating, electrical insulation and leakage current at operating temperature, radio and television interference suppression, moisture resistance, overload protection, mechanical strength, construction, internal wiring, components, resistance to rusting, and protection against radiation, toxicity, and similar hazards.
