Dalam projek ini, peralatan pemantauan tenaga telah direka untuk membolehkan pemilik rumah untuk memantau penggunaan kuasa peralatan elektrik mereka dalam masa sebenar. Data penggunaan tenaga yang dikumpul daripada peralatan yang berbeza boleh dianalisis dalam satu tempoh masa. Dengan adanya maklumat ini, pengguna akan dapat mengenal pasti peralatan elektrik yang mempunyai penggunaan kuasa yang tinggi dan mereka dapat mengubah corak penggunaan mereka untuk tujuan pemuliharaan tenaga. Pada masa yang sama, hal ini juga akan mengurangkan bil elektrik mereka. Dalam projek ini, sensor arus elektrik dan sensor voltan akan digunakan untuk medapatkan kedua-dua arus elektrik dan voltan dalam peralatan elektrik. Data dari semasa ke semasa akan dihantar ke pengawal mikro untuk pemprosesan bagi mendapatkan punca min persegi (PMP) voltan, PMP arus elektrik, kuasa ketara dan kuasa sebenar penggunaan perkakas dan penggunaan kuasa. Maklumat ini akan dihantar ke laman sesawang ThingSpeak™ melalui sambungan Ethernet. Maklumat ini boleh dilihat dari alat elektronik dengan sambungan Internet supaya dapat log masuk ke laman sesawang ThingSpeak™. Selain itu, data juga akan dipaparkan pada modul paparan kristal cecair supaya pengguna dapat melihat penggunaan kuasa dalam masa sebenar. _______________________________________________________________________________________________________ In this project, a real-time power monitoring device is developed in order to allow house owners to monitor the power usage of their electrical appliances in real-time. The energy consumption data collected from different appliances can be analysed over a period of time. By having this information, the users will be able to identify which home appliances have high power consumption and thus change their usage pattern for the purpose of energy conservation. At the same time, this will also reduce their electricity bill. In this project, a current sensor and a voltage sensor will be used to capture both current and voltage of an electrical appliance. The data over time will be fed to a microcontroller for processing to obtain the root mean square (RMS) voltage, RMS current, apparent power and real power of the appliance and power consumption. The information will be sent to ThingSpeak™ webpage through Ethernet connection. The information can be viewed from any electronic gadgets with Internet connection by logging into the ThingSpeak™ webpage. Besides, the data will also be displayed on a Liquid Crystal Display (LCD) module for the user to view the real-time power usage.
