Tiie versatility of natural clay and their ability to adsorb a variety of environmental contaminants present in the water effluents has attracted aesthetic concem among environmentalist. These practical applications rely primanly on the diversity of natural clay structure to retain to relai harmlul and undesirable substance from the immediate environment.The adsorptive capability of natural clays is related to fundamentals units of the clay-sized crystalline minerals which present in different combinations. Although the ny reactivity of these minerals might be e ;endedextended to a broad range of anthropogenic and industrial pollutant, these clay minerals have shown limited. applications rn trrerr natural swle. In particular, severalmodrrlcation routes lias been evaluated for HID d ve:loprnent of natural clays derived water purification technology.
