In-service power requirement for motorised momentum exchange tether in earth-mars mission_Choo Pauline_A2_2014_NI
This project studies on the power requirement for the Motorised Momentum Exchange Tether (MMET) for Earth-Mars mission. From the previous years, interplanetary payload transfer has always been done through conventional rocket propulsion with high costs incurred. Therefore, studies focusing on finding a more economical way for payload transfer with the use of MMET with lower power consumption were carried out. The comparison on the power consumption between both conventional rocket system and the MMET was also conducted alongside with the factors affecting the performance of the MMET .The results were analysed and discussed in detail in this report.
