kalangan parameter proses disiasat.

Hydrothermal carbonization of biomass (mangosteen and coconut husk) and presents a
promising way to improve fuel characteristics of biomass without preliminary drying. In this
process, feedstock is subjected to heating with water at temperatures between 180 and 250 ◦C
during a certain period of time. This work investigates the effect of process conditions
(temperature and time) on the hydrothermal carbonization of mangosteen and coconut husk as a
biomass.Three sets of experiments were carried out with every different temperature and time.
The optimum mass yield calculated from the mathematical correlation were 53.368% for
mangosteen and 46.96% for coconut husk at temperature 200 °C and 60 minutes. From the
analysis of variance, the most influential factor on each experimental design response was
identified. Hydrochar of mangosteen and coconut husk HTC- 1h(200 °C) within all studied
temperatures have the strongest effect on the mass yield decrease and growth of hydrochar
heating value. Under these circumstances, the energy yield values for the residence time of six
hours are the lowest among the investigated process parameter sets. The higher heating value for
optimum yield of mangosteen are 20175 J/g and coconut husk are 19650 J/g.Within the
investigated parameters, longer residence times resulted in more complete carbonization and, as
a consequence, lower mass yields, hydrochar energy yield.
