Kesatabilan tanah adalah perkara penting pada masa kini, dengan mengetahui sifat dan tindak balas tanah daripada kesan-kesan pencemaran alam sekitar yang berlaku adalah penting supaya setiap tindak balas yang berlaku boleh diambil langkah pencengahan. Dengan berlaku pencemaran tumpahan minyak keatas tanah pada masa kini. Kajian yang dijalankan adalah untuk melihat tindak balas tanah apabila berlaku tumpuhan minyak di atas permukaan tanah. Ujian yang dilakukan menggunakan kaedah Ricih Terus menggunakan tegasan normal yang berlainan untuk mendapat nilai sudut geseran dan kaedah Cliafornia Bearing Ratio (CBR) untuk mendapat nilai bearing capacity tanah. Kaedah kajian yang dijalankan keatas tanah laterik yang dicampurkan dengan minyak dan air dengan nisbah peratus kelembapab yang berbeza. Nisbah kelembapan yang digunakan dalam tanah adalah 0%, 25%, 50% dan optimum kelembapan. Terdapat tiga sampel tanah digunakan yang mempunyai peratus clay yang berbeza iaitu 42.2%, 29.2% dan 20.4%. Tanah yang mempunyai peratus clay yanh tinggi mempunyai nilai sudut geseran yang tinggi pada keadaan kering dengan nilai 54.35° berbanding tanah yang mempunyai nilai clay rendah dengan sudut geseran adalah 50.58°. _______________________________________________________________________________________________________ Soil stability is important nowadays, by knowing the properties and reactions of soils from the effects of environmental pollution that occurs is important so that all reactions that occur can be taken a safety measure. In the event of contamination of the oil spill on the ground can currently. The study is to see a real response in the event of spill of oil on the surface of the ground. The test is performed using the method of Direct Shear test use different normal stress continue to get the value of the friction angle and California Bearing Ratio (CBR) to get the value of bearing capacity of soil. The study carried use laterites soil mixed with oil and water on the basis of percentage of different Moisture content. Moisture ratio used in mix the soil is 0%, 25%, 50% and optimal moisture content. There are all three soil samples used with percent clay varies 42.2%, 29.2% and 20.4%. The land has a high percentage of clay have high point of friction angle in dry state with 54.35 ° compared to the land has a low value of clay with low friction angle was 50.58 °.
