BS EN 60730-2-6:1995 is a European standard that specifies requirements for the performance, construction, and testing of electronic motor protectors. Electronic motor protectors are devices designed to protect motors from overload or other electrical faults by disconnecting the power supply.
The standard sets out specific requirements for the performance, construction, and testing of electronic motor protectors, including requirements for their response time, accuracy, and electrical insulation. The standard also specifies requirements for the marking and documentation of electronic motor protectors, to ensure that they can be correctly identified and used in a safe and effective manner.
BS EN 60730-2-6:1995 is intended to ensure that electronic motor protectors are safe, reliable, and effective in protecting motors from overload or other electrical faults. It is worth noting that this standard has been revised and updated several times since its initial publication in 1995, with the latest version being BS EN 60730-2-6:2020. The newer versions of the standard include updated requirements for the performance and testing of electronic motor protectors, reflecting advances in technology and changes in consumer expectations.
