This clause of part 1 is applicable except as follows:
This International Standard IEC 1058-2-5 applies to change-over selectors for appliances actuated by hand, by foot, or by other human activity for use in, on, or with, appliances and other equipment for household and similar purposes, with a rated voltage not exceeding 440 V and a rated current not exceeding 63 A.
Replacement:
This standard applies to change-over selectors intended to be integrated or incorporated in, on, or with, an appliance or equipment.
NOTES
1. For change-overs used in tropical climates, additional requirements may be necessary.
2. Attention is drawn to the fact that the standards for appliances and equipment may contain
additional or alternative requirements for change-overs.
3. Throughout this standard the word "appliance" means appliance or equipment.
