BS 469 is a European standard that outlines the requirements for railway signalling lamps and gives the testing procedures required to establish conformity to the requirements, based upon statistical evaluation against an acceptable non-conformity level to ensure the proper functioning of railway signalling lamps. Who is BS 469 - Railway signalling lamps for? BS 469 on railway signalling lamps is useful for: Manufacturers of railway signalling lamps Test centres Railway vehicle operators Regulatory authorities Why should you use BS 469 - Railway signalling lamps? A double-pole lamp is a double-filament lamp in which both filaments are connected permanently in parallel. A triple-pole lamp is a double-filament lamp in which one end of each filament is connected to the cap shell and the other ends of the filaments are connected one to each contact plate. BS 469 guideline assists you with requirements for marking, caps, insulation resistance, cap solder and initial readings for railway signalling lamps. BS 469 provides you guidance on standard datasheets for railway lamp drawings that are intended to indicate the dimensions for railway signalling lamps. With obedience and compliance to BS 469, you can improve the efficacy of railway signalling lamps and minimise the hazards for railway vehicle operators and the railway signalling team.
