Objektif kajian ini adalah untuk menilai pengecilan aliran kolam masyarakat dengan menggunakan model SWMM. Ia berdasarkan inventori parit, keamatan hujan rekabentuk dan kadar aliran puncak dalam Taman Machamg Bubok, Bukit Mertajam, Pulau Pinang. Projek ini bertujuan untuk menjalankan pemodelan kolam komuniti menggunakan model SWMM, untuk menilai perbezaan ARI dan pengecilan aliran untuk kolam komuniti. Kolam Komuniti dikira dari segi keupayaan untuk mengekalkan dan mengalirkan air ribut. Daripada kajian ini, jumlah keamatan hujan selama 10 tahun dan 25 tahun adalah 55.87 mm/jam dan 68.34 mm/jam selama 30 minit dan manakala pada 60 minit jangkamasa hujan adalah 79.03 mm/jam dan 96.69 mm/jam. Di samping itu, daripada analisis menunjukkan bahawa persimpangan J9, J18 dan J19 akan mengalami surcaj. Titik tertinggi disurcajkan adalah 0.73 jam. Untuk air larian puncak selama 10 tahun dan 25 tahun pada 30 minit adalah 2.09 m³/s dan 2.90 m³/s manakala bagi tempoh 60 minit, air larian puncak selama 10 tahun dan 25 tahun adalah 2.00 m³/s dan 2.65 m³/s. Selain itu, kapasiti kolam masyarakat hanya boleh menampung isipadu air larian daripada 3.386 m³. Tambahan pula, ia dapat diperhatikan bahawa pengurangan peratusan pengecilan aliran kolam komuniti di Taman Machang Bubok adalah dalam julat dari 20% kepada 57% bagi permukaan longkang. Hasilnya menunjukkan bahawa selama 10, 25 tahun ARI dapat menampung dengan berkesan untuk kolam komuniti. Kajian ini juga menggunakan SWMM sebagai alat pemodelan. Hasil simulasi akan dibincangkan. SWMM mampu untuk pemodelan hidrologi dan keadaan hidraulik untuk tadahan bandar. _______________________________________________________________________________________________________ The objective of the study is to evaluate the flow attenuation of community pond by using SWMM modelling. It’s based on the inventory of drain, design rainfall intensity and peak discharge in the Taman Machamg Bubok, Bukit Mertajam, Penang. The project is aimed on the modelling community pond using SWMM model, to evaluate the differences ARI and flow attenuation of community pond. Community pond is calculated in terms of its capability to retain and drain the storm water Over this study, the total rainfall intensity for 10 years and 25 years are 55.87 mm/hr and 68.34 mm/hr for 30 minute while at 60 minute duration of rainfall are 79.03 mm/hr and 96.69 mm/hr. In addition, from the analysis shown that junction J9, J18 and J19 will be experienced surcharge with the highest hours surcharged is 0.73 hours. For the peak runoff for 10 years and 25 years at 30 minute are 2.09 m³/s and 2.90 m³/s while for 60 minute duration, peak runoff for 10 year and 25 year are 2.00 m³/s and 2.65 m³/s. Besides that, this is a community pond capacity can only accommodate runoff volume of 3386 m³. In addition, it has been observed that the percentage reduction of flow attenuation of community pond in Taman Machang Bubok in range from 20% to 57% for surface of drain. As a result shows that for 10, 25 year ARI able to accommodate effectively for community pond. This study also using SWMM as a modelling tool. The result of simulation will be discussed. SWMM is capable to model the hydrology and hydraulic condition for the urban catchment.
