Keratan keluli berbentuk Triangular Web Profile(Triweb) merupakan keratan yang terdiri daripada dua plat bebibir dan bersambung pada web berbentuk segitiga. Pelbagai kajian penyelidikan telah dijalankan untuk mengenali sifat, kelakuan dan keistimewaan keratan web biasa berbanding keratan keluli berbentuk segitiga. Salah satu skop yang tidak diberi perhatian penuh ialah keupayaan keratan keluli berbentuk web segitiga terhadap kilasan berbanding dengan keratan web biasa. Tesis ini mengulas tentang sudut piuh (angle of twist ) untuk keratan keluli berbentuk segitiga dan keratan web biasa. Skop kajian tesis ini merangkumi analisis unsur terhingga melalui perisian computer iaitu LUSAS dan juga analisis teori bagi keratan keluli berbentuk segitiga dari segi kelakuan kilasan. Analisa dari analisis unsur terhingga memberi nilai anjakan dan daripada nilai yang diperolehi , nilai sudut piuh akan dapat dikira. Tiga puluh tujuh model telah dibuat dalam analisis ini. Keputusan nilai sudut keratan keluli berbentuk segitga telah dibandingkan dengan nilai sudut piuh keratan web biasa. Di dalam analisa ini, terdapat faktor-faktor yang mempengaruhi nilai sesaran seperti panjang, ketebalan, kedalaman, keluasan dan sudut kecenderungan panel web. Melalui hasil dan analisis oleh analisa unsur terhingga, nilai sudut piuh untuk keratan rasuk keluli berbentuk segitiga adalah lebih kecil daripada keratan rasuk web biasa. Kesimpulannya, keratan keluli berbentuk segitiga boleh menentang lebih banyak kilasan daripada keratan web biasa dan ia sesuai digunakan untuk menggantikan keratan web biasa bagi sesetengah kes struktur besi yang sesuai dengan kehendak kelakuan kilasan. Akhirnya, keratan keluli berbentuk web segitiga mempunyai keupayaan lebih baik daripada keratan keluli web biasa dalam kajian kelakuan kilasan dan matlamat tesis tercapai. ___________________________________________________________________________________ A triangular web profile (Triweb) steel section is made of two flanges connected to a web plate of triangular profile. Various research works have been carried out to study the characteristic, behavior and advantages offered by normal flat web section compared to the triangular web profile steel section. An area that is not given full attention is the capability of triangular web profile section on comparison to resist torsion behavior compared to the normal flat web. This thesis concerns the study of angle of twist for beam with Triweb and I-beam section. The study covers the finite element analysis by LUSAS software and theoretical investigation of Triangular web profile steel section subjected to torsion behavior. The analyses from finite element analysis give the value of displacement and from there, the value of angle of twist will calculate. The result of angle of twist of the Triangular web profile beams was compared to that of the normal flat web beams. In this analysis, there are factors that influenced the value of displacement such length, thickness, depth, breadth and inclined panel`s angle. Thirty-seven of models were modelled which consisted with beam with normal flat web and beam with triangular web. From the result and analysis by Finite Element Analysis, the value of angle of twist for triangular web profile beam section is lower than normal flat web beam section. It can be concluded that the triangular web profile section can resist more torsion than normal flat web section and it suitable to be use as new propose shape to replace normal flat web section for a certain steel structure based on torsion behavior. As a result, triangular web profile section has better performance to that of flat web section on resisting torsion behavior and the objective of thesis was achieved.
