Kualiti kuasa kini telah menjadi satu komponen penting dalam kebolehpercayaan menjadi lebih kritikal kerana peralatan perindustrian menjadi lebih sensitif kepada variasi voltan yang kecil. Kebanyakan masalah kualiti kuasa yang dialami di Malaysia adalah Voltan sag yang berlaku disebabkan oleh litar pintas dalam sistem penghantaran kuasa dan kesilapan daripada pemasangan dalaman pelanggan. Satu kajian tentang kualiti kuasa dalam 25 kV sistem transmision keretapi telah dijalankan untuk mendapatkan pemahaman yang lebih mengenai perkara tersebut. Fenomena mengendur voltan, pengaturan voltan pada kejatuhan voltan dalam sistem penghantaran kereta api telah dimasukkan dalam kajian ini. Terdapat lima kes kajian telah direka bentuk untuk mengenal pasti voltan sag dalam sistem masukan keretapi apabila terdapat beberapa kereta api yang bergerak selaras itu. Pengiraan dan simulasi kes kajian telah dijalankan dengan menggunakan formula dan Matlab Simulink untuk menganalisis voltan sag setiap kajian kes. Kaedah resolusi telah dicadangkan di dalam tesis ini selepas semua kes-kes kajian dianalisis untuk meningkatkan kualiti kuasa 25 kV masukan keretapi. Kes paling teruk yang voltan sag adalah apabila terdapat empat kereta api di dalam 25 kV keretapi masukan yang akan menghasilkan 6.21% voltan sag daripada voltan asal. ______________________________________________________________________________________ Power quality has now become an important component of service reliability to both utility and customers. The power quality problem has now become more critical due to industrial equipment becoming more sensitive to minor voltage variations. Most of the power quality problems experienced in Malaysia are voltage sags. Voltage sags that occured are due to short circuits in the power delivery systems and faults from customers’ internal installation. A study about power quality in 25 kV railway transmision system has been carried out in order to get more understanding about that particular matter. Voltage sag phenomena, voltage regulation on voltage drop in railway transmission system been included in the study. There are five case study are design to identify the voltage sags in the railway feeder system when there are several trains are moving in that line. The calculation and simulation case study have been conducted by using the formula and Matlab Simulink to analyze the voltage sags foe every case study. The methods of resolution are given on this thesis after all the cases study are analysed to improve the power quality of the 25 kV railway feeder. The worst case of the voltage sags is when there is four trains in the2 5 kV railway feeder which result of 6.21% of voltage sags from nominal voltage.
