Projek ini membentangkan rekabentuk, simulasi dan penghasilan antena slot bersepadukan substrat atau lebih dikenali dengan istilah “Substrate Integrated Waveguide Slot Antenna”. Antena yang dicadangkan telah direkabentuk dan disimulasikan untuk beroperasi pada frekuensi 12 GHz. Antena ini telah disimulasi dengan menggunakan perisian Ansoft HFSS dan Agilent ADS. Antena slot bersepadukan substrat ini direkabentuk untuk mempunyai lima slot. Antena ini telah dihasilkan diatas satu substrat sahaja. Rekabentuk ini dapat mengurangkan kos penghasilan, berat dan juga saiz malahan ia dapat meningkatkan mutu “manufacturing repeatability and reliability”. Antara kelemahan dalam rekabentuk antenna adalah dari segi kos dan saiz. Bagi mengatasi masalah ini, teknologi “Substrate Integrated Waveguide” telah diperkenalkan. Dengan mengimplentasikan teknologi ini, kelemahan saiz dan kos dapat diatasi. Rekabentuk antena slot bersepadukan substrat ini telah diubahsuai dan dioptimumkan untuk mendapatkan keputusan simulasi yang terbaik. Struktur antenna ini kemudian dikeruhkan pada substrat Rogers RO4003C yang mempunyai ketebalan 0.813mm, tangen pemalar dielektrik bernilai 3.38 dan tangen kehilangan sebanyak 2.7 x 10!! . Keputusan menunjukkan bahawa prototaip antena mempunyai kehilangan refleksi sebanyak -21.29 dB pada frekuensi salunan 11.325 GHz. _______________________________________________________________________________________________________ This project presents the design, simulation and fabrication of Substrate Integrated Waveguide (SIW) Slot Antenna. The proposed antenna has been designed using Ansoft HFSS and Agilent ADS software. The antenna is designed to operate at the frequency of 12GHz. The proposed antenna is designed with five slots. The SIW slot antenna is fabricated on a single substrate. This not only reduces the size, weight and cost but also enhances the manufacturing repeatability and reliability. One of the main drawbacks of antenna design is its cost and size. To overcome this ‘Substrate Integrated Waveguide’ technology is introduced. The design has been modified to get the most optimum results using Ansoft HFSS and layout designed was done using Agilent ADS. The antenna is then deployed on the Rogers RO4003C substrate. The thickness, dielectric constant and loss tangent for the substrate is 0.813mm, 3.38, and 2.7 x 10!! respectively. The results show that the proposed antenna prototype has a return loss of -21.29 dB at resonant frequency of 11.325 GHz.
