Kajian Peningkatan Kecekapan Tenaga Elektrik untuk Pembangunan Komersial merupakan satu proses penilaian terhadap aspek-aspek yang mempengaruhi kecekapan sistem elektrik. Projek ini dilaksanakan bagi menyelidik faktor-faktor yang menyumbang kepada ketidakcekapan tenaga, kaedah meningkatkan kecekapan dan analisis ekonomi terhadap kesan daripada pemuliharaan tenaga elektrik. Projek ini menekankan 3 aspek utama yang menyumbang kepada ciri beban keseluruhan iaitu penghawa dingin, pencahayaan dalaman dan beban-beban tak linear. Pengaruh ketiga-tiga komponen beban ini dilihat dari aspek tenaga yang digunakan, kualiti kuasa dan langkah penjimatan. Bagi beban penyejukan dua jenis sistem penyejukan dibandingkan iaitu Sistem Penyejukan Udara Terpakej dan Sistem Penyejukan Unit Terpisah iaitu bagi memastikan sama ada operasi kedua-dua sistem ini efisien atau tidak. Bagi sistem pencahayaan pula analisis dilakukan dengan mengambil kira sama ada sistem pencahayaan sedia ada beroperasi pada kos yang efektif. Analisis terhadap reka bentuk sistem pencahayaan sedia ada turut dilakukan bagi meningkatkan kecekapan penyebaran pencahayaan. Bagi beban tidak lelurus, analisis yang dilakukan adalah bagi mengenal pasti sama ada kehadiran arus berharmonik tinggi memberi kesan kepada pensaizan kabel neutral. Selain itu, satu perisian interaktif mesra pengguna telah dibangunkan bagi menganalisis perbandingan kos antara kos pelaburan, kos operasi dan pulangan terhadap pelaburan. Cadangan terhadap peningkatan kecekapan kualiti tenaga elektrik juga dibincangkan secara mendalam. ______________________________________________________________________________________ Electric Energy Efficiency Enhancement of a Commercial Establishment is a research to evaluate several aspects that influencing efficiency of an electrical system. This project was done to investigate factors that contribute to inefficient electrical energy use, method to improve efficiency, and economic analysis effect to the electrical energy conservation. This project focused on 3 aspects that inherent as total load characteristic which consist air conditioning, indoor lighting and non linear load. Research that was done include the aspect of energy that is being used, power quality and savings methodology. For cooling load, two types of system was concern which is Air Cooled Package Unit and Air Cooled Split Unit to ensure either the system is efficient or not. For lighting system, the analysis involves to determine either the present systems operates at a cost effective value. For non-linear load, analysis that was done to determine either the rich harmonic current may affect the neutral sizing cable. Besides that, interactive and user friendly software was developed to analyze cost comparison between the capital cost, system operational cost and the investment payback. This report also consist some suggestion to enhance the electric energy efficiency, that is being discuss in a depth way.
