Industri pembinaan di Malaysia merupakan salah satu penggerak ekonomi negara.
Dalam sektor ini, pelbagai pihak terlibat dan antaranya adalah organisasi kontraktor
yang bertanggunjawab untuk melaksanakan pembinaan dengan efektif dan selamat
sama ada semasa pembinaan atau pun selepas binaan itu siap. Walaubagaimanapun,
sektor pembinaan di Malaysia masih berhadapan dengan isu keselamatan yang
mengganggu prestasi pembangunan negara. Fokus utama dalam kajian ini ialah untuk
menilai perlaksaan aspek keselamatan oleh kontraktor. Kajian ini bermula dengan
merujuk daripada buku-buku, jurnal-jurnal dan juga laman sesawang. Satu set soal kaji
selidik telah direka untuk mengumpul data daripada responden-responden tentang
keselamatan di dalam pembinaan di sekitar Jawi dan Nibong Tebal. Analisis mengenai
komponen di dalam aspek keselamatan terdiri daripada pengurusan, pencegahan dan
kawalan hazard, analisis tapak dan perlaksanaan program keselamatan yang dijalankan
terhadap tapak bina yang dipilih secara rawak. Data yang diperolehi dianalisis dengan
menggunakan SPSS untuk mendapatkan index min, peratusan serta perbandingan
antara faktor demografi dengan maklumbalas responden terhadap komponen
keselamatan. Akhir sekali, keputusan yang diperolehi menunjukkan komponenkomponen
ini wujud di tapak bina yang dinilai dengan tahap memuaskan. Komponenkomponen
ini akan membantu keselamatan projek pembinaan dengan penglibatan
semua pihak dan pelaksanaannya oleh syarikat dari peringkat awal sehingga penyiapan
projek. Selain itu, Hasil kajian menunjukkan bahawa tiada perbezaan yang signifikan
dalam perbandingan faktor demografi terhadap jawapan soal selidik daripada
komponen aspek keselamatan. Ini bermakna bahawa faktor demografi tidak menyentuh
apa-apa maklum balas yang diberikan dalam kajian yang dijalankan.

The construction industry in Malaysia is one of the country's economic engines. In this
sector, the various parties involved and which is the organization responsible for the
contractor to undertake the construction of safe and effective either during construction
or after construction was completed. However, the construction sector in Malaysia is
still dealing with the safety issues that interfere with the performance of the country's
development. The main focus of this study is to evaluate the safety execution by the
contractor. This study begins by reference of books, journals and websites. A
questionnaire survey was designed to collect data from respondents about safety in
construction around the Jawi and Nibong Tebal. An analysis of components in safety
aspect consists of management, prevention and control of hazards, work site analysis
and implementation of safety programs carried out on the construction site were
selected at random. Data were analyzed using SPSS for index mean, percentages and
comparison between demographic factors and responses of respondents on safety
components. Finally, the results obtained show the components exist at the construction
site that is evaluated as satisfactory. These components will help the safety of
construction projects with the involvement of all parties and its implementation by the
company from the beginning to the completion of the project. In addition, the results
showed that no significant difference in the comparison of demographic factors on the
questionnaire responses of the components of the safety aspect. This means that
demographic factors do not affect any feedback given in the study.
