BS 7173:1989 - Self-ballasted lamps for general lighting services safety requirements

This British Standard specifies the safety requirements for self-ballasted lamps intended for general lighting services, which are designed to operate directly from supply voltages up to 250 V AC. These lamps: Include an integral means of controlling current (i.e., the ballast is built into the lamp). Are typically screw-base or bayonet-cap types. Are intended for indoor or outdoor use, depending on the product design.
