Lembaga Pembangunan Industri Pembinaan (CIDB) merupakan sebuah badan berkanun di bawah Kementerian Kerja Raya telah diberi mandat untuk mempromosikan penggunaan Sistem Bangunan Berindustri (IBS) dalam industri pembinaan. IBS adalah teknologi bangunan bertujuan untuk mengurangkan tenaga kerja di tapak pembinaan, mengurangkan sisa buangan, mengurangkan bahan di tapak pembinaan, persekitaran yang lebih bersih, kualiti yang lebih baik, tapak pembinaan yang teratur dan selamat, projek lebih cepat siap dan kos pembinaan lebih rendah. Tujuan pembinaan lestari adalah untuk mengurangkan kesan kepada alam sekitar sepanjang hayat bangunan tersebut, dan juga mengoptimumkan daya saing ekonomi serta keselesaan dan keselamatan penghuni-penghuninya. Oleh itu, tujuan kajian ini adalah untuk mengetahui senarai kriteria IBS yang berkaitan dengan teknologi hijau sebagai suatu ukuran kelestarian dalam industri pembinaan, dari perspektif teknikal dan pengurusan. Lazimnya, penggunaan IBS dalam pembinaan jambatan dan terowong adalah lebih tinggi berbanding pembinaan bangunan. Ini menunjukkan bahawa pihak yang terlibat tidak begitu memahami matlamat penggunaan IBS dan hanya memenuhi kehendak kerajaan. Kaedah kajian soal selidik telah digunakan dalam kajian ini. Seramai 26 dari 43 orang responden menyedari bahawa IBS adalah salah satu teknologi hijau dan ia penting kepada industri pembinaan. Kesimpulannya, pihak-pihak yang terlibat sedar akan kepentingan penerimaan IBS sebagai teknologi hijau untuk kelestarian tetapi pendedahan terhadap isu ini adalah tidak mencukupi. Hasil daripada kajian ini melibatkan faktor-faktor teknikal dan pengurusan IBS sebagai teknologi hijau dalam satu senarai tersusun dengan fokus hierarki tentang infrasturktur lestari. _______________________________________________________________________________________________________ The Malaysia Construction Industry Development Board (CIDB), a statutory body under The Ministry of Works has been given the task to promote the use of Industrialized Building System (IBS) in the construction industry. Industrialized Building System (IBS) is a building technology that involves a reduction of site labour, lower wastage, less site materials, cleaner environment, better quality, neater and safer construction sites, faster project completion as well as lower total construction costs. The aims of sustainable construction are to reduce the environmental impact of a building project over its entire lifetime, while optimizing its economic competitiveness and the comfort and safety of its occupants. Therefore, this research aim is to find out the list of criteria on IBS that are relevant to green technology as a sustainable measure in the construction industry, from technical and managerial perspectives. Usually, the usage of IBS for construction bridge and tunnel was much higher compared to building construction. It’s shows that the parties involved in IBS are not clearly known the aim of IBS usage in sustainability purpose meanwhile they only fulfil the government requirements. Questionnaire Survey Method was used in this study. The 26 out of 43 respondents realize IBS as a green technology issues are extremely and it is very important towards the construction industry. In conclusion, the related parties realize IBS is well adopted as a means of green technology for sustainability but the exposure to these issues are not enough. Outcomes of this research involve technical and managerial factors of IBS as a green technology in a proper list with hierarchical focus pertaining sustainable infrastructure.
