BS 7068:1989 specifies the requirements for design, construction, performance, and safety of alternating pressure air mattresses used primarily for the prevention and management of pressure sores (decubitus ulcers) in healthcare and home care environments.
These mattresses are designed to redistribute pressure by cyclically inflating and deflating air cells, reducing prolonged pressure on vulnerable areas of the body.
