Motor tiga fasa segerak magnet kekal ialah sejenis motor segerak baru yang telah digunakan secara meluas dalam banyak aplikasi kerana kecekapan yang lebih tinggi dan ketumpatan kuasa berbanding dengan motor elektrik konvensional yang lain. Oleh itu, ia adalah penting untuk mereka bentuk motor segerak magnet kekal yang berprestasi optimum. 6 slot/4 kutub motor segerak magnet kekal dengan pemagnetan jejari dan selari direka dengan menggunakan perisian unsur terhingga dan ciri-ciri elektromagnet 6 slot/4 kutub motor segerak magnet kekal semasa keadaan tanpa beban dan beban diperolehi daripada perisian unsur terhingga. Pemegun dan pemutar telah dibina berdasarkan pengiraan analisis dimensi motor untuk mencapai motor segerak magnet kekal yang berprestasi optimum. Semua keputusan yang diperolehi daripada simulasi dikumpul dan dianalisis. Ciri-ciri elektromagnet dan prestasi motor adalah tork penugalan, voltan fasa teraruh, ketumpatan udara jurang fluks dan tork elektromagnet. Voltan fasa teraruh yang diperolehi daripada motor selanjutnya dikira dalam komponen harmonic, ini bertujuan untuk mengira jumlah herotan harmonik dalam fasa gelombang voltan fasa teraruh. berdasarkan keputusan daripada analisis, 6 slot/4 kutub motor segerak magnet kekal dengan kemagnetan selari mempunyai ciri elektromagnet yang lebih baik disebabkan puncak tork penugalan dan jumlah herotan harmonik dalam votlan fasa teraruh yang rendah. 6 slot/4 kutub motor segerak magnet kekal dengan kemagnetan selari dioptimumkan lagi dengan mengurangkan kutub-arka magnet. Sebagai hasilnya, kutub-arka magnet dengan 84 darjah mekanikal dipilih sebagai magnet kutub arka optimum dalam 6 slot/4 kutub motor segerak magnet kekal dengan kemagnetan selari disebabkan jumlah herotan harmonik dan puncak tork penugalan yang rendah berbanding padang penuh magnet kutub-arka. _______________________________________________________________________________________________________ Three-Phase Permanent Magnet (PM) Synchronous Motors is the new type of synchronous motor that have been widely used in many applications due to its high efficiency and high power density compared to other conventional electrical motors. Therefore, it is important to design the optimum performance of PM synchronous motor. The 6-slot/4-pole PM synchronous motor with radial and parallel magnetizations are designed by using Finite element software and the electromagnetic characteristics of 6-slot/4-pole PM synchronous motor at noload and on-load conditions are obtained from Finite element software. The stator and rotor were constructed based on the analytical calculation of motor dimensions in order to achieve the optimum performance of PM synchronous motor. All the results obtained from simulation are compiled and analyzed. The electromagnetic characteristics and performance of the motor are the cogging torque, phase back-EMF, air gap flux density and electromagnetic torque. The phase back-EMF of the motors are computed further into its harmonic components in order to compute the total harmonic distortion in the phase back-EMF waveforms. From the result, the 6-slot/4-pole PM synchronous motor with parallel magnetization has the best electromagnetic characteristic due to its low peak cogging torque and low total harmonic distortion in phase back-EMF. The 6-slot/4-pole PM synchronous motor with parallel magnetization is further optimized by reducing pole-arc of the magnets. As the result, the magnet pole-arc of 84° mechanical is chosen as the optimum magnet pole arc in 6-slot/4-pole PM synchronous motor with parallel magnetization due to low total harmonic distortion and low peak cogging torque compared to full pitch magnet pole-arc.
