Dalam penyelidikan ini, prestasi permulaan untuk merawat air kumbahan dari kilang kertas kitar semula dengan menggunakan anaerobik cenderung baffle (AIB) bioreaktor telah dikaji. Bioreaktor AIB dimulakan dengan 5 hari masa penyimpanan hidraulik (HRT) pada suhu 35 darjah celsius. Permulaan ini mengambil masa selama 14 hari sebelum ia mencapai keadaan stabil pada hari yang ke-15. Selepas berjaya mencapai start-up, bioreaktor AIB boleh mencapai penyingkiran COD yang amat tinggi dengan 92%. Apabila kepekatan COD influen dalam anggaran 717mg/L hingga 752mg/L, effluen akhir COD bioreaktor AIB ialah 60mg/L hingga 264mg/L. Apabila influen pH ialah 7.94, effluen pH ialah 6.63 pada hari yang ke-15. Selain itu, kandungan gas metana dalam biogas yang dihasilkan oleh AIB bioreaktor mencecah 57% dengan penghasilan biogas sebanyak 0.07L/d pada hari yang ke-15. _______________________________________________________________________________________________________ In this study, the start-up performance of treating recycled paper mill wastewater by using anaerobic inclining baffled (AIB) bioreactor was studied. The AIB bioreactor was started with a hydraulic retention time (HRT) of 5 days at 35˚C. The start-up process took 14 days before it reached steady state on day 15. The AIB bioreactor after successful start-up can achieve relatively high average COD removal of 92%. When the influent COD concentration was varied from 717mg/L to 752mg/L, the final effluent COD of AIB bioreactor was 60mg/L to 264mg/L. When influent pH was 7.94, the effluent pH was 6.63 on day 15. Besides that, methane content in biogas generated by AIB bioreactor was up to 57% with biogas yield of 0.07L/d on day 15.
