PENGARUH KEAMATAN HUJAN TERHADAP KAWASAN TADAHAN KAJIAN KES PAREJ 3 KOTA KINABALU_ABD RAHIM BIN ABD RAHMAN_A9_2004_NI_800085924
It is the fenomenon that during rainy season flood will attack on the low land of the catchment. It is a fact that the rainfall intensity and duration are the factors influencing the surface runoff in a catchment. From the study on the catchment area of Package 3, Kota Kinabalu, it has been experienced different rainfall intensity for the past 20 years (1981-2000). From the case study on the Package 3, Kota Kinabalu catchment area, it is found that there is a different rainfall intensity within a period of 20 years (1981- 2000). The rainfall distribution data was analized using Gumbel Distribution method and compared with the analisis and result of MSMA (JPS, 2000) in providing the intensity distribution frequency (IDF). From the IDF curve using Gumbel Distribution method, the polynomial equation was derived which would be used to design the rainfall intensity. The area of Package 3 catchment is 6.665 square kilometer or 666.5 hectares. The result from the analisis shows that there was an increase in the rainfall intensity for a period between 1981-1985, 1986-1990 and 1996-2000 but a decrease in intensity for a period of 1991-1995. Nevertheless, as an average the rainfall intensity has contributed to the increase of runoff which tend to cause flood to the low land in the catchment. Fenomena yang sering melanda sesuatu kawasan tadahan bila tnusim hujan adalah berlakunya banjir di kawasan yang rendah. Ini berlaku kerana sememangnya sudah menjadi fitrah bahawa keamatan dan tempoh hujan merupakan salah satu faktor yang mempengamhi kadaralir air larian permukaan di kawasan tadahan tersebut. Daripada kajian kes yang dijalankan di kawasan tadahan Pakej 3, Kota Kinabalu telah mengalami keamatan hujan yang berbeza dalam tempoh 20 tahun yang lepas (1981 - 2000). Datadata cerapan/taburan hujan telah dianalisa dengan menggunakan pendekatan kaedah Taburan Gumbel dan membandingkan dengan analisa dan keputusan MSMA JPS 2000 dalam menyediakan lengkung keamatan tempoh kekerapan (IDF). Daripada lengkung IDF menggimakan kaedah Taburan Gumbel, persamaan polinomial diterbitkan untuk digunakan dalam pengiraan hujan rekabentuk. Kawasan tadahan Pakej 3 mempunyai keluasan sejumlah 6.665 kilometer persegi atau 666.5 hektar. Hasil daripada penganalisaan ini menunjukkan terdapat peningkatan keamatan hujan untuk tempoh 1981-1985, 1986-1990 dan 1996-2000 manakala dalam tempoh 1991-1995 keamatan hujan mengalami penurunan. Namun begitu secara purata keamatan hujan telah meningkatkan kadar alir permukaan yang mana telah meningkatkan potensi berlakunya banjir di kawasan dataran banjir yang rendah.
