Peranti pengukur biasa yang digunakan pada masa kini adalah pita pengukur. Pita pengukur yang selalu digunakan adalah pita yang diselang seli dengan jalur hitam dan putih. Pita dilanjutkan sepanjang objek yang hendak diukur dan dengan membaca nombor yang menunjukkan pengukuran secara manual. Pita pengukur boleh mengambil bacaan objek yang mempunyai panjang dalam julat pita berukuran sahaja. Oleh itu, ia adalah sukar untuk mengukur panjang objek yang tidak boleh lurus kerana pita pengukur mudah untuk dilipat dan diregangkan. Ini akan menjadikan bacaan tidak tepat. Peranti yang secara automatik boleh membaca dan mengira jalur hitam dan putih tepat jelas diperlukan. Projek ini membangunkan satu peranti yang boleh mengesan dan mengira jalur hitam dan putih. Pertama, TCRT5000 akan menerima isyarat nadi sebagai pemasukan. Isyarat nadi akan dihasilkan oleh pengekod optik. Jalur hitam dan putih akan dikira berdasarkan denyutan yang dihasilkan. Siasatan dibuat untuk mencari ketepatan sensor berdasarkan saiz jalur. Formula diuji dalam projek ini menggunakan formula halaju. _______________________________________________________________________________________________________ The common measuring devices that used nowadays is measuring tape. A simple measuring tape are alternating with black and white stripes. The tape is extended along the object to be measured and by manually reading the numbers that indicates the measurement. The measuring tape can take reading of the object that had length in the measuring tape range only. Therefore, it is hard to measure the length of object that can’t stand straight because the measuring tape are easy to be folded and be stretched. This will make the reading not accurate. A device which can automatically read and count the black and white stripes accurately is clearly needed. This project develop a device which can detect and count the black and white stripes. TCRT5000 will give signal pulse as input. The pulse signal will be produced by the optical encoder. The black and white stripes will be counted based on the pulses. An investigation is made to find the sensor accuracy based on the size of stripes. A formula is tested on this project using a velocity formula.
