BS 2816:1989 is a British Standard that outlines methods for specifying electroplated coatings of silver and silver alloys intended for engineering applications. It provides guidelines for electrodeposited coatings on both metallic and non-metallic substrates, primarily for electrical, electronic, and other engineering uses. The standard excludes coatings containing significant alloying elements other than silver.
