In this project, it is intended to develop a system that provide better learning environment for a class conducted in a big lecture hall, when the lecture delivery uses a small white board. In a big lecture hall, students who sit far away will have difficulty to view the white board. Therefore, it is intended to develop a system by which teaching activities on the white board can be captured using a camera and send the data to a PC. The captured video requires some processing techniques before displayed through a LCD projector. The possibilities of the difficulties are the writings are too small and the angle of the view of the students is not appropriate.
In this project, we need to capture a frame sequence from the whiteboard. The captured video or frames are stored in the form of bitmap. Every one second, the webcam will capture 30 frames. This means that there are 30 images are captured in 1 second. Each of these images is then enhanced before being broadcasted on to the screen. A specific region in the white board is specified for enhancement so that better resolution can be provided. This usually goes to the area in the white board where the lecture is currently pointing or writing something.
