Rangkaian ad hoc mudah alih (MANET) merupakan sejenis rangkaian tanpa wayar. Ia terdiri daripada satu kumpulan koleksi nod mudah alih atau peranti tanpa mana-mana infrastruktur yang tetap. Dengan nod yang mudah alih dan ketiadaan infrastruktur yang berpusat, nod pemula adalah bergantung kepada nod pertengahan untuk menghantar maklumat kepada nod destinasi. Kebolehpercayaan nod dalam MANET menjadi satu faktor yang penting dalam prestasi rangkaian. Nod perlu bergantung kepada kerjasama dan kepercayaan daripada nod di sekeliling untuk melindungi maklumat dari nod-nod yang palsu atau berniat jahat. Objektif projek adalah untuk membina satu model kepercayaan dalam MATLAB, untuk mengkaji kesan faktor pemberat antara kepercayaan secara langsung dan kepercayaan cadangan kepada kepercayaan anggaran yang dikira, dan untuk menilai laluan yang dijana dalam pelbagai senario yang mewakili tahap keselamatan yang berbeza. Kesan faktor-faktor pemberat dikaji dengan menggunakan tiga pasangan faktor pemberat yang berbeza dalam pengiraan kepercayaan anggaran. Kepercayaan secara langsung dan kepercayaan cadangan daripada nod-nod dalam rangkaian digunakan dalam menilai penjanaan laluan di simulasi model rangkaian menggunakan MATLAB. Berdasarkan graf kepercayaan anggaran diplot yang dikira dari simulasi yang menggunakan ketiga-tiga pasang faktor-faktor pemberat, ia terbukti bahawa berat kepercayaan secara langsung dan kepercayaan cadangan boleh menjejaskan kepercayaan anggaran. Ia juga terbukti bahawa kepercayaan anggaran juga boleh dijejaskan oleh kepercayaan secara langsung antara nod-nod dalam rangkaian. Berdasarkan keputusan daripada simulasi, laluan yang dijana dalam keempat-empat senario tahap keselamatan yang berbeza adalah betul mengikut kaedah dan nilai ambang yang digunakan. Laluan yang terhasil menunjukkan bahawa laluan yang paling dipercayai dan pendek boleh dicapai.

A mobile ad hoc network (MANET) is a type of the wireless networks. It consists of a group of collection of mobile nodes or devices without any fixed infrastructure. With the mobility of nodes and the absence of centralized infrastructure, the initiator node is dependent on the intermediate nodes to transmit information to the destination node. The trustworthiness of nodes in MANET becomes an important factor in the performance of the networks. The nodes have to rely on the cooperation and trust of surrounding nodes in order to protect the information from fake nodes or malicious nodes. The objectives in this project are to develop a trust model in MATLAB, to investigate the effect of weighting factors between direct trust and recommendation trust on the calculated estimate trust, and to evaluate the path generated in different scenarios representing different security levels. The effect of weighting factors is investigated by using three different pairs of weighting factors in estimate trust calculation. Direct trust and recommendation trust of nodes in the networks are utilized in evaluating the path generation in simulation of network model using MATLAB. Based on the plotted graph of estimate trust calculated from the simulation of three pairs of weighting factors used, it is proven that the weight of direct trust and recommendation trust can affect the estimated trust. It is also proven that the estimated trust can also be affected by the direct trust between nodes in the network. Based on the results from the simulation, the paths generated in four different security level scenarios are correct according to the method and threshold value used. The resulting paths show that highest trusted and shortest path can be achieved.
