BS EN 60034-15:1996 is a European Standard titled "Rotating electrical machines - Part 15: Impulse voltage withstand levels of rotating electrical machines with form-wound stator coils". This standard specifies the minimum impulse voltage withstand levels of form-wound stator coils used in rotating electrical machines.
The standard covers various aspects related to the impulse voltage withstand levels of the form-wound stator coils, such as the requirements for test procedures, test equipment, and test specimens. It also provides guidelines for the interpretation of the test results and the determination of the impulse voltage withstand levels.
BS EN 60034-15:1996 applies to form-wound stator coils used in rotating electrical machines with a rated voltage up to 15 kV and a rated frequency of 50 Hz or 60 Hz. The standard is intended for use by manufacturers, testing laboratories, and users of rotating electrical machines with form-wound stator coils.
It is worth noting that this standard has been superseded by newer versions, including BS EN 60034-15:2014, which includes updates and revisions to the previous edition.
