Printed version of this is available at library. To request, please e-mail to referencepk@usm.my and include a copy of this record in your e-mail.
The purpose of this European pre standard is to identify the concepts within the text of surgical procedure notes and to structure them to represent the concepts, their internal relations and concept systems. This pre standard is meant to be used by organisations involved with the development or maintenance of classifications and coding systems for medical procedures. This standard can support the development of multipurpose coding systems of surgical procedures, suitable for the medical record and for other purposes. This standard covers surgical procedures in all surgical disciplines. It is expected that use of this pre standard will allow assignment of natural clinical language expressions and mapping of the main existing classifications of surgical procedures Coding systems based on this pre standard will have limited value without computer support
