Pada masa kini, pengesanan ciri-ciri muka memainkan peranan yang penting dalam pelbagai aspek atau bidang, seperti pengenalan muka, model pengekodan video, sistem pengawasan keselamatan dan lain-lain. Walaupun terdapat banyak algorithm pengesanan wajah yang telah dibangunkan, kebanyakan algoritma diuji dengan menggunakan imej sebenar sebagai contoh foto dan bukan melaksanakannya untuk lakaran imej wajah. Pengekstrakan ciri-ciri wajah daripada imej lakaran adalah salah satu teknik yang berkesan yang telah dikaji dan berkembang bertahun-tahun. Selain itu, terdapat teknik pemadanan wajah yang bergantung kepada ciri-ciri muka yang mungkin berubah sebagai contoh gaya rambut dan misai. Hal ini akan menjejaskan ketepatan prosedur muka lakaran yang sepadan. Dengan ini, pengekstrakan daripada ciri-ciri wajah contohnya mata, hidung dan bibir dicadangkan kerana ciri-ciri wajah tersebut mengandungi informasi yang unik untuk orang yang berbeza. Cara tersebut dapat mengurangkan kesilapan dalam pemadanan wajah. Tambahan pula, maklumat teks yang berbeza antara imej lakaran dan imej sebenar meningkatkan kesukaran pengenalan muka lakaran. Untuk menyelesaikan masalah ini, teknik sintesis pseudo-lakaran digunakan untuk menukar imej yang sebenar kepada skala kelabu imej lakaran sebelum prosedur muka pengenalan dijalankan. Matlamat projek ini termasuk mengekstrak komponen muka penting seperti mata dan mencadangkan kaedah segmentasi kelopak mata dan iris daripada imej lakaran. Sistem automatik segmentasi kelopak mata dan iris juga dibangunkan untuk mandapatkan kelopak mata dan iris daripada imej-imej lakaran secara automatik. Keseluruhan pelaksanaan sistem aliran dijalankan seperti rantau mata kanan dan mata kiri diekstrak terlebih dahulu daripada saiz imej lakaran normal dengan menggunakan pengesan lata objek. Kemudian iris daripada mata tunggal dikesan dengan melaksanakan Transformasi Pekeliling Hough untuk memperoleh jejari dan kedudukan iris. Selepas itu mata kelopak mata dikesan dengan memeriksa maklumat piksel daripada imej binari mata. Akhir sekali, kontur atas dan kontur bawah mata terbentuk dengan menjalankan teknik polinomial untuk kelopak mata mata yang dikesan. Selain itu, kelopak mata pembentukan kontur mempunyai prestasi yang lebih baik apabila dibandingkan dengan kaedah yang sedia ada. Sistem iris segmentasi mencapai ketepatan sebanyak 93.40 % dan 87.08 % berdasarkan penilaian F-ukur dengan menggunakan dua pangkalan data lakaran imej yang berbeza iaitu IIIT-D (Indeaprastha Institute of Information Technology-Delhi) dan CUHK (Chinese Unibersity of Hong Kong). _______________________________________________________________________________________________________ Nowadays, facial features detection plays an important role in many aspects or fields, such as face recognition, model based video coding, surveillance security system etc. Although there have been many facial detection algorithms have been developed, many of the algorithms are tested by using real images for example photos instead of applying it to sketch face images. Facial features extraction from sketch images is one of the efficient techniques that has been studied and developed for many years. Moreover, in the face sketch matching technique, some matching techniques rely on the face features that might be varies for example hair style, mustache and so on. Hence, this will affect the accuracy of the face sketch matching procedure. Therefore, feature extraction from the facial features for example eyes, nose and lip is proposed due to the unique characteristics of these features among different people which consequently able to reduce the matching errors. Furthermore, different textual information between sketch images and real images raise the difficulties of face-sketch matching. To solve this problem, pseudo-sketch synthesis technique is applied as to convert real image to grayscale sketch image before matching procedure. The goal of this project is to extract the important facial components such as eyes and propose the method for eyelids and iris segmentation from sketch image as well as pseudo-sketch images before face-sketch matching procedure. An automatic eyelids and iris segmentation system is also developed to automatically retrieve the eyelids and iris from the sketch images. The overall implementation system flow is generally described such as the right eye and left eye regions are first extracted from the size normalized sketch image by using enhanced cascade object detector, then the iris from the single eyes are detected by implementing Circular Hough Transformation to acquire the radius and position of the iris. After that the eyelids points are detected by inspecting the pixel information from the binarised eye image. Lastly, the upperlid contour and lowerlid contour are formed by conducting polynomial least square error curve fitting to the detected eyelids points. The Eyelids contour formation have a better performance when compare to the existing method. The system achieves 93.40% and 87.08% accuracy for iris segmentation based on F-measure evaluation from IIIT-D and CUHK sketch databases respectively.
