This Malaysian Standard are intended for both national and International electronic data interchange applications. The development work is undertaken by the UN/EDIFACT Rapporteur teams with representation from interested UN/ECE Working Party No. 4 (WP. 4) members. Known Electronic Data Interchange (EDI) messages that are in operation or in development are taken into consideration. The term Message is also known in other standard as a Transaction Set.
The basis for all message is a set of interdependent documents which are required in order to interpret, understand and use UNSMs. These documents are listed and briefly defined in Section 1-'References' of this chapter.
