Sistem biometrik adalah corak pengiktirafan yang melibatkan proses seperti memperoleh imej biometrik daripada individu, ciri pengeluaran dan sepadan imej dengan template dalam pangkalan data. Dalam usaha untuk meningkatkan kebolehpercayaan sistem biometrik, sistem biometrik pelbagai model diperkenalkan. Sistem biometrik pelbagai model adalah menggabungkan lebih daripada satu ciri biometrik ke dalam sistem biometrik. Sistem penggabungan vena dan buku jari merupakan salah satu contoh sistem biometrik pelbagai model. Maklumat buku jari dan vena jari adalah mudah didapati dan berada di setiap jari. Tujuan utama projek ini adalah merekabentuk peranti yang boleh menangkap imej urat jari dan buku jari secara serentak dengan menggunakan peranti laser. Laser inframerah digunakan untuk menyelesaikan masalah pencahayaan tidak seragam dengan menggunakan array LED. Teknik padanan yang digunakan dalam projek ini adalah Band-Limit Phase Only Correlation (BLPOC). Skor jati dan skor samaran yang dhasilkan oleh buku dan urat jari akan digabungkan dengan menggunakan teknik Support Vector Machine (SVM). Eksperimen telah dijalankan untuk mendapatkan parameter yang terbaik bagi pemadanan imej. System pengiktirafan urat jari yang dicadangkan mempunyai Genuine Acceptance Rate (GAR) yang bernilai 91.68% dan Equal Error Rate (EER) yang bernilai 8.32%. Sistem pengiktirafan buku jari yang dicadangkan mempunyai GAR yang bernilai 80.83% dan EER yang bernilai 19.17%. Dengan menggunakan SVM teknik, GAR dan EER yang diperolehi ialah 99.97% dan 0.03% masing-masing dengan ketepatan 99.921%. Nilai EER bagi sistem pengiktirafan buku jari yang dicadangkan adalah terlalu tinggi untuk satu sistem yang mantap. Walau bagaimanapun, cadangan urat jari bagi sistem pengiktirafan adalah kukuh dan boleh dipercayai. Kesimpulannya, penggabungan buku dan urat jari dalam satu sistem biometrik mempunyai GAR dan EER yang lebih baik berbanding urat jari atau buku jari bagi pengiktirafan sistem masing-masing. _______________________________________________________________________________________________________ Biometric system is a pattern recognition which involves processes such as acquiring biometric image from an individual, feature extraction and matching with the template in database. In order to improve the reliability of biometric systems, multimodal biometric system ware introduced. The multimodal biometric system combined more than one biometric feature into biometric system. Fusion of finger vein and finger knuckle biometric system is one of the examples for multimodal biometric system. The finger information can be easily obtained because vein and knuckle existed on the finger. The objective of this project is to develop a device which is capable of capturing the images of finger vein and finger knuckle print simultaneously using near infrared laser. Near infrared laser is used to solve the non-uniform illumination by using LED array. The matching technique used was Band-Limit Phase Only Correlation (BLPOC). The generated genuine and imposter score for finger vein and finger knuckle are fused using Support Vector Machine (SVM) score level fusion method. Experiments were conducted to obtain the best parameter for image matching. The proposed finger knuckle recognition system has a Genuine Acceptance Rate (GAR) of 80.80% and Equal Error Rate (EER) of 19.17%. The proposed finger vein recognition has a GAR of 91.68% and EER of 8.32%. By using SVM score level fusion method, the GAR and EER obtained were 99.97% and 0.03% respectively with an accuracy of 99.921%. The EER for the proposed finger knuckle recognition system is too high for a robust system. However, the proposed the vein recognition system is robust and reliable. In conclusion, the fusion of knuckle and vein for finger based biometric system has a better GAR and lower EER as compared to stand alone finger vein or finger knuckle recognition system.
