Satu kajian mengenai pengekstrakan Acetaminophen (ACTP) yang juga dikenali sebagai paracetamol dari larutan akueus dengan menggunakan membran cairan emulsi berasaskan minyak sayuran (ELM) telah diselidiki. Dalam sistem ELM, terdapat 3 fasa utama iaitu fasa luaran, fasa membran dan fasa dalaman. Dalam fasa luaran terdiri daripada larutan ACTP berair untuk dirawat. Sementara itu, membran dan fasa dalaman membentuk emulsi utama air-dalam-minyak (W / O) dengan menggunakan siasatan ultrasonik untuk menyuraikan fasa luaran. Sementara itu, membran dan fasa dalaman membentuk emulsi air-dalam-minyak (W / O) utama dengan menggunakan penyelidikan ultrasonik untuk menyebarkan fasa luaran. Dalam kajian ini, terdapat 3 minyak sayur-sayuran yang digunakan sebagai pengencer yang minyak bunga matahari, minyak sawit dan minyak canola serta minyak bunga matahari dipilih sebagai pencair terbaik untuk digunakan sepanjang kajiannya. Selain itu, TrioctylAmine (TOA) dan Aliquat 336 digunakan sebagai pembawa dan ammonia dan natrium klorida (NaCl) sebagai fasa dalaman dan Span 80 sebagai surfaktan. Pengaruh beberapa keadaan operasi seperti jenis pembawa, jenis fasa dalaman, kesan masa pengemulsian, kesan masa pengekstrakan, dan kelajuan kacau disiasat. Kerja-kerja ini membuktikan bahawa sistem ELM mampu mengeluarkan 97.73% ACTP daripada larutan akueus dengan syarat optimum 15 minit masa pengemulsian, 1.8 wt% aliquat 336, 1.8 wt% Span 80, 5 minit masa pengekstrakan, 200 rpm kelajuan kacau, 0.5 M larutan ammonia, 1 M HCL larut dalam larutan ACTP berair dengan menggunakan air deionized. _______________________________________________________________________________________________________ A study on the extraction of Acetaminophen (ACTP) which is also known as paracetamol from aqueous solution by using vegetable oils based emulsion liquid membrane (ELM) was investigated. In ELM system, there are 3 main phases which are external phase, membrane phase and internal phase. In the external phase, it consists of ACTP which is considered as feed to be removed from the aqueous solution. Meanwhile, membrane and internal phases form the primary water-in-oil (W/O) emulsion by using ultrasonic probe in order to disperse in the external phase. In this study, there are 3 vegetable oils were used as diluent which sunflower oil, palm oil and canola oil and sunflower oil was chosen as the best diluent to be used throughout this study. Besides, TrioctylAmine (TOA) and Aliquat 336 were used as carrier and ammonia and sodium chloride (NaCl) as internals phase and Span 80 as surfactant. The influence of several operating conditions such as type of carrier, type of internal phase, effect of emulsification time, effect of extraction time, and stirring speed were investigated. These work proved that the ELM system was capable to effectively remove 97.73% of ACTP from aqueous solutions under optimum conditions of 15 minutes of emulsification time, 1.8 wt% of aliquat 336, 1.8 wt% of Span 80, 5 minutes of extraction time, 200 rpm of stirring speed, 0.5 M of ammonia solution, 1 M of HCL dissolved in ACTP aqueous solution by using deionized water.
