This Malaysian Standard applies to thermoplastics pipes with profiled walls and smooth inner surfaces made from high density polyethylene (HDPE), unplasticised polyvinyl chloride (PVCU), polypropylene (PP) and to fittings made from these pipes.
This Malaysian Standard specifies dimensions and tolerances for thermoplastics pipes and fittings with profiled walls and smooth inner surfaces, as well as requirements for joints.
For the purposes of this standard, profiled pipes are those with profiled outer surfaces, flanged pipes, helically wound pipes with smooth or profiled outer surfaces, and pipes with foamed inserts in their walls.
NOTES:
1. Fittings manufactured differently can also be used in pipework provided the requirements for compatibility and quality are complied with.
2. Pipes manufactured in accordance with this standard can also be used as components in process engineering.
