Bahagian yang paling penting bagi projek ini ialah system pra bayar yang terdiri daripada mikropengawal dan satu EEPROM. Mikropengawal dalam system ini bertindak sebagai otak bagi system pra bayar dan pengiraan bil dilakukan dalam mikropengawal. Isyarat dihantarkan daripada mikropengawal kepada LED, pembuz (‘buzzer’) dan LCD. Masukan bagi mikropengawal ialah denyutan yang dihasilkan oleh chip pengukur kuasa tenaga ADE7757. Bahagian perkakasan yang lain pula ialah kad pintar dan sistem pengaturan kad pintar. Satu EEPROM telah digunakan dalam bahagian kad pintar yang disambungkan kepada sistem pra bayar. EEPROM ini perlu diaturcarakan oleh sistem pengaturan kad pintar sebelum ia dapat digunakan sebagai kad pintar. Bahasa PICBASIC PRO telah digunakan untuk menuliskan aturcara bagi sistem pra bayar dan sistem pengaturan kad pintar. Mikropengawal dalam sistem pra bayar telah diaturcarakan untuk memaparkan kredit yang tertinggal dalam sistem pada LCD pada setiap masa. Sistem bil yang digunakan dalam projek ini telah diringkaskan. Daripada pengiraan, setiap 8077 denyutan yang dihasilkan oleh ADE7757 akan menyebabkan sistem pra bayar menolak satu sen daripada kredit yang tertinggal. Prepaid power meter ini telah mencapai keboleharapan sebanyak 91.40%. _________________________________________________________________________________________ The main part of this project is the prepaid system where it is built up from a microcontroller and an EEPROM. The microcontroller inside this system acts as the brain for the prepaid system and the calculation of the bill is done inside the microcontroller. Signals are sent by the microcontroller to the LED, buzzer and the LCD. The input to the microcontroller is the pulses that are produced by the energy measurement chip ADE7757. The smart card and the smart card programming system are also parts of this project. An EEPROM has been use as a smart card and it is connected to the prepaid system. This EEPROM need to be programmed by the smart card programming system before it can be used as a smart card. PICBASIC PRO language has been used to program the microcontroller for both the prepaid system and the smart card programming system. The microcontroller in the prepaid system has been programmed to display the credit left inside the system on the LCD for every moment. The billing system in this project has been simplified. Every 8077 pulses produced from the ADE7757 will cause the prepaid system to deduct single cent from the credit left. This prepaid power meter has achieved the reliability of 91.40%.
