Tujuan tesis ini adalah untuk merekabentuk dan membina pemegang bagi motor inisiasi yang digunakan untuk helikopter muatan ringan serta menganalisis tekanan dan kekuatan reka bentuk. Tesis ini akan memberi perincian reka bentuk struktur pemegang motor dan kaedah terperinci dalam menganalisis tekanan dan kekuatan reka bentuk struktur. Pemegang motor inisiasi mestilah dapat memegang motor yang digunakan oleh helikopter muatan ringan untuk menghidupkan enjin. Pemegang motor direka supaya dapat dipasang dan dicabut daripada helikopter muatan ringan dengan mudah. Ini dapat mengurangkan berat keseluruhan helikopter muatan ringan apabila ia mahu berlepas dan terbang. Tetapi, struktur pemegang motor juga mestilah dapat menahan beban yang dikenakan padanya yang mana berasal dari berat motor dan pendakapnya. Analisis dilakukan dengan menggunakan perisian SOLIDWORKS edisi 2016 X64. Analisis dilakukan untuk memeriksa sama ada struktur pemegang motor insiasi mampu menahan beban yang digunakan dan untuk memeriksa keadaan kegagalan dan kedudukan pada struktur apabila ia gagal. Hasil simulasi yang dijalankan menunjukkan keberkesanan struktur pemegang motor inisiasi untuk menahan beban yang dikenakan semasa operasi tanpa mengalami kegagalan pada struktur dan tekuk berlaku pada struktur berdasarkan dua lokasi berbeza ia diletakkan di tiang utama pemegang motor ultra ringan. Untuk membandingkan hasil daripada simulasi, kaedah analisis dilakukan untuk memeriksa perbezaan peratusan antara kedua-dua pendekatan ini. Dari kaedah analisis, hasil simulasi dapat mengesahkan sama ada terdapat sedikit perbezaan atau perbezaan besar. Untuk melengkapkan projek ini, kebanyakan peralatan dan keperluan vii bahan dalam menghasilkan pemegang bagi motor inisiasi ini boleh didapati di bengkel Aeroangkasa. Hasil penyelidikan dapat sangat membantu dalam penerapan struktur pemegang motor inisiasi pada semua jenis helikopter ultra ringan yang tidak menggunakan sistem klac. _______________________________________________________________________________________________________ The purpose of this thesis is to design and fabricate an initiation motor mount for an ultra-light helicopter (ULH) and analyze the stress and strength of the design. This thesis will provide a detail of initiation motor mount structure design and detailed method in analyzing the stress and strength of the structure design. The initiation motor mount must be able to hold the motor being used by an ultra-light helicopter to start the engine. The motor mount is designed so that it could be mounted and dismounted from ultra-light helicopter easily. By having the characteristic of easily dismount, it could reduce the overall weight of the ultra-light helicopter when it wants to takeoff and fly. But, the initiation motor mount structure also must be able to withstand the load applied on its which comes from the weight of the motor and its bracket. The analysis is done using the SOLIDWORKS 2016 X64 Edition software. The analysis is done to check whether the structure of the initiation motor mount capable to withstand the applied load and to check the failure condition and position on the structure when it fails. The results of conducted simulation show the effectiveness of the initiation motor mount structure to withstand the applied load during the operation without having any structural failure and buckling occurred on the structure based on two different locations it was positioned at the motor holder post of the ultra-light helicopter. To compare the result from simulation, analytical method is performed to check the percentage difference between these two approaches. From the analytical method, the simulation result can verify whether there is slight differences or significant differences. To complete this project, most of the material and equipment needs in fabricating this initiation motor mount are available in the Aerospace workshop. The research result can be very helpful in the application of initiation motor mount structure on any type of ultra-light helicopter that is not using a clutch system.
