Flight stability and performance of a small uav/Jackie Chieng Chang Kiong

Kestabilan adalah salah satu elemen utama dalam proses reka bentuk UAV. Kestabilan UAV merupakan satu keperluan untuk penerbangan yang selamat. Terdapat dua jenis gerakan dalam kestabilan sesebuah UAV, iaitu gerakan “longitudinal” and “lateraldirectional”. Sesebuah UAV haruslah stabil secara static dalam kedua-dua usul di mana ia dapat kembali ke kedudukan keseimbangannya selepas gangguan yang dihadapi tanpa menjauhi kedudukan keseimbangannya.. Sebagai salah satu komponen utama dalam dalam UAV, penstabil mengufuk and menegak haruslah direka dengan betul. Penstabil mengufuk and menegak telah dikaji dan direka berdasarkan keperluan tertentu untuk memastikan pusat gravity UAV adalah sesuai. Nilai eigen bagi kedua-dua gerakan usul telah diselesaikan dan diplot untuk memastikan mereka terletak pada kawasan kiri di mana ini menunjukkan UAV tersebut adalah stabil. Akhir sekali, simulasi dinamik UAV untuk kedua-dua gerakan dalam3 darjah usul telah dijalankan. Maklum balas keluk dianalisis untuk memahami cirri-ciri penerbangan dan prestasi UAV. Kajian ini telah dioptimumkan dengan menggunakan MATLAB untuk menjalankan manipulasi matriks dan pengendalian data yang kompleks. ___________________________________________________________________________________ Stability is one of the main elements in UAV design process. A stable UAV is a necessity and requirement for a safety flight. There are two motions in stability of an UAV, which are the longitudinal motion and lateral-directional motion. An UAV has to be statically stable in both motions where it was able to return to its equilibrium position after a disturbance encountered without being driven away. As one of the main principal components in UAV, the tails has to be designed properly. The tail sizing was studied and designed based on the requirements to ensure the UAV center of gravity location was appropriate. The eigenvalues for both equation of motions were solved and plotted to ensure they were located on the left plane which indicated the UAV was stable. Lastly, the simulations of the UAV dynamic motion were then done in both 3 degrees of motions. The responses curves were analyzed to understand the flight behavior and performance of the UAV. The study was optimized by using MATLAB to handle matrix manipulation and complex data handling. .
