Selulosa dihasilkan daripada serat sabut kelapa yang terlebih dahulu dirawat melalui proses pencairan mengunakan cecair ionik yang terdiri daripada [Bmim][Cl], [Bmim][Br], [Bmim][OAc] dan [Bmim][PF6]. Ciri-ciri yang terdapat pada selulosa dikaji menggunakan Zetazizer Nano ZS, SEM, HRTEM dan FTIR. Keputusan menunjukkan selulosa terkecil yang diperoleh ialah 2.715 nm menggunakan [Bmim][PF6]. Selulosa yang diimejkan menggunakan SEM kelihatan menggumpal bersama manakala imej dari HRTEM menunjukkan selulosa muncul sebagai rod. Keadaan optimum untuk pencairan selulosa untuk mendapatkan keputusan selulosa yang terbaik adalah reaksi untuk 90 min, pada suhu 60℃ dan 0.0126 nisbah jisim serat kepada cecair ionik. _______________________________________________________________________________________________________ Cellulose were produced by dissolution process using ionic liquids which are; [Bmim][Cl], [Bmim][Br], [Bmim][OAc] and [Bmim][PF6] from coconut husk fiber that is previously subjected to pretreatment. The cellulose was characterized by Zetazizer Nano ZS, SEM, HRTEM and FTIR. Results showed that the smallest size of the cellulose obtained was 2.715 nm in diameter by using [Bmim][PF6]. Under the SEM the cellulose appeared to be agglomerated together, while under the HRTEM the cellulose appeared to be in rods. The optimized conditions in cellulose dissolution for the best results of cellulose are at 90 min, at temperature of 60℃ and mass ratio of 0.0126 of fibers to ILs.
